At Maranyane Medical Laboratory we go beyond the test tube. Our community focused CSI work emphasises public health education, prevention and empowerment—especially around chronic diseases, gender-based violence (GBV) and substance abuse with a keen focus on children.
In May 2025 we hosted Jwaneng’s first Children’s Health Expo, attended by more than 400 children and over 30 stakeholders from government, private and NPO sectors, all united in promoting children’s wellbeing.
As part of our outreach, our director authored a children’s book, Healthy Warriors: Conquering NCDs, to introduce non-communicable disease (NCD) awareness in a child-friendly way. The book bridges the literacy gap and makes scientific health information accessible to youth, helping shape healthier behaviours from an early age.
We believe investing in children’s literacy can reduce future disease burden and positively influence social challenges such as GBV. At Maranyane, we remain committed to empowering youth through education, partnerships and ongoing community programmes.
